Inspired by the timelessness of Vincent van Gogh's work, each digital sculpture captures an authentic leaf under a glass cloche to preserve the moment forever. Sourced from the historical locations where the artist walked, these 6 animations allow new audiences to connect with the Van Gogh Foundation in the Netherlands.
Impressions
A gentle story.
While the leaves fall past the artworks, we are reminded of the lasting impression of nature, and van Gogh's work. Using Houdini's simulation workflows, we were able to take the high quality 3d scan and gently work it into our scene.
6 animations of leaves floating gently through a dark room were created for the Van Gogh collection, featuring elements of "The Potato Eaters" and other masterworks.
Style Development
3D Scan & Sourcing
The leaves were sourced from the very places the artist himself would have walked and been inspired by. These leaves were then meticulously 3D scanned and prepared for our simulation system.
Our animations express a special moment where the falling leaves pass through a projection of Van Gogh's art, paying homage to the profound connection between his life and his iconic artwork.
