Seoul Drone Show Workshop
The integration of drones as a medium for artistic expression has rapidly evolved, yet the barrier to entry remains high. My goal with the Seoul Drone Show Workshop was to demystify the technical process and empower artists to command the sky.
"After only 2 hours of seminar time, the students were able to design, simulate, and execute their very first drone show."
This incredible turnaround was made possible by leveraging the procedural power of Houdini. By teaching the core principles of node-based workflows and procedural animation, the students bypassed traditional, time-consuming keyframe animation.
More than just a workshop, this event marked a significant milestone: the launch of a new startup venture called "August" in Seoul. August aims to push the boundaries of aerial entertainment by merging deep technical expertise with avant-garde artistic vision.
This workshop proved that with the right tools—like Houdini—and the right guidance, the sky is no longer the limit; it's just the canvas.
Looking ahead, August will continue to host intensive training sessions in Seoul and beyond, fostering a new generation of sky-artists who see drones not just as gadgets, but as brushstrokes in the atmosphere.
